Hey everyone!

Yes, I'm still alive...even though I went through some crappy stuff these past few months, I'm still here. Sorry for the long absence and for leaving in the middle of a giveaway, but I really had a tough time and even had to move twice in less than a month. But I won't bore you with my problems and I'll just stick to the nails and nail polish.

600 Follower Giveaway!

Hi everyone! Happy friday! ^^

Some time ago, we reached 600 followers, and I commented on FB that I would be planning a giveaway soon...and soon turned into a couple of months, but it is finally here! :p

The prize is a gift from Purple Professional, and it consists of 3 nail polishes (1 from each of their latest collections, chosen by me) and a base coat. The nail polishes are Saphire, that I reviewed on my previous post, Coral Island, that Carolina made me fall in love with, and Don't Mint Me, that looked perfect on Rosana's nails. The base coat is Spa Nail Rescue. It has vitamin E, aloe vera and bamboo extract on it's formula, that helps regenerate and moisturize damaged nails.

Há algum tempo atrás, o blog atingiu os 600 seguidores, e na altura comentei no FB que iria planear um sorteio brevemente...e o brevemente tornou-se em uns 2 meses, mas finalmente cá está o dito cujo! :p

Purple Professional Sapphire with a skittle. Or sort of...

Hi, hi!
How's everyone doing? ^^ I've been doing fine, a bit busy, trying to get in the routine of going to work everyday, doing house chores, and still try to find time to play and do my nails. All this without compromising my sleep time too much, which I end up doing anyway... -.-' Of course, the blog gets a bit left behind, but I'm still trying to post here and there. The worst part of all of this, is that I have a ton of things to review, and I also want to wear what I keep buying, so...HELP!!? xD

On other news, monday, I bought my first helmer, finally!! It's red and all pretty. *-* Can you tell how excited I am about this? :p I used to store all my nail polish in the drawers of my bedside table, but it got so full that I was having a hard time organizing my stash. It took me about 2-3h getting it together and moving all my nail polish into it. I reckon it wasn't so bad, was it?

But let's move onto the nails!
I got this Purple Professional for review the other day, and it looked okay on the bottle, I wasn't too excited about it, until I put it on my nails, and then I was amazed. It is gorgeous, I tell you! Photos don't do it justice, and I tried my best to make it look as good on the pics as what I saw on my nails, but I just couldn't...You'll have to take my word for it. Anyway, here are the photos:

Como estão todas? ^^ Eu tenho andado bem, um bocadinho ocupada a tentar entrar na rotina de ter de ir trabalhar todos os dias, fazer as coisas normais de uma casa, e ainda arranjar tempo para jogar e pintar as unhas. Isto tudo sem comprometer muito as minhas horas de sono, o que acabo por fazer na mesma...-.-' Claro que quem acaba por sofrer com isto é o blog, mas ainda estou a tentar postar aqui e ali. A pior parte disto tudo, é que tenho uma catrefada de coisas para revisão e, claro, que também quero usar as coisinhas que continuo a comprar, por isso...SOCORRO!!? xD

Outra novidade, é que na segunda, finalmente comprei o meu primeiro helmer!! É vermelhinho e todo bonito! *-* Acho que conseguem perceber o quão excitada eu estou com isto, não? :P Tinha os meus vernizes todos guardados nas gavetas de uma mesa de cabeceira, mas já estava a ficar tão cheia que eu andava com sérias dificuldades em organizá-los todos lá. Levei umas 2-3h a montar o helmer e a mudar a colecção de vernizes toda. Acho que não foi assim tão mau, pois não?

Mas seguindo para o que interessa, as unhas!
Eu recebi este Purple Professional para revisão, no outro dia, e pareceu-me bonitinho no frasco, mas nada assim de muito excitante, isto é, até pô-lo nas unhas, porque quando o fiz, fiquei deveras maravilhada. Ele é lindíssimo! As fotos não lhe fazem qualquer justiça, e acreditem que eu tentei o meu melhor para captá-lo convenientemente, mas não consegui...Vão ter de acreditar na minha palavra. De qualquer maneira, aqui ficam as fotos:

I used 3 coats of Sapphire on my middle and ring finger, 2 coats of Hits Apollo on my index and thumb, and 3 coats of Jade Psicodélica on my pinky. These are all very holographic polishes, but the sun decided to be bitchy and hid behind some clouds for the days I was wearing this manicure.

As you can see from the photos, Sapphire is a glitter nail polish with a clear base, and it's composed by 2 different types of glitter, holographic silver microglitter and blue hexagonal glitter. You can get it to full coverage with 3 coats, but you can layer it if you choose to, in one coat, over any colour of your choice. This was really easy to apply. The glitter spreads nicely on the nail, it won't flood your cuticules and it is, relatively, easy to clean up (for a glitter polish). It dries a bit matte and gritty, but with the sand, sugar and texture trend going around, you can just leave it like that if you like it, or you can apply top coat to make it look shiny, like I did. I needed 2 coats of it to make it look smooth and shiny.

Usei 3 camadas do Sapphire no meu anelar e médio, 2 camadas do Hits Apollo no indicador e polegar e 3 camadas do Jade Psicodélica no mindinho. Estes vernizes são todos bastante holográficos, mas o sol decidiu que havia de ser mauzinho, e escondeu-se atrás das nuvens durante o tempo que usei esta manicure.

Como podem ver pelas fotos, o Sapphire é um verniz de glitter, com base transparente e composto por 2 tipos de glitter diferentes, microglitter holográfico em prateado e glitter hexagonal azul. Podem atingir uma cobertura total com 3 camadas, ou se preferirem, podem usá-lo, em 1 camada, por cima de qualquer outra cor. Foi muito fácil de aplicar. O glitter espalha-se bem pela unha, não vai para as cuticulas se aplicado com cuidado, e é, relativamente, fácil de limpar (para um glitter). Ele seca um bocado matte e rugoso, mas com a moda dos sands, sugars e texturados por aí, podem deixá-lo assim se gostarem, ou então podem aplicar 2 camadas de top coat, como eu fiz, para deixá-lo lisinho e brilhante.

Purple Professional #61 & #62

Purple Professional is releasing a new set of colours for the Summer and I was lucky enough, to get sent 2 of those colours for review, #61 - a bright pink and #62 - a mint green.

I'm not a pink girl, so let's get that out of the way. :P
For starters, it is NOT neon! I don't know why my camera picked it up like this, it's a bright pink, but still not neon...I tried an array of different settings, but it was useless...my camera is more stubborn than me, so be it! -.-'

Here, I have 3 coats of Purple Professional #61, with no top coat.

A Purple Professional vai lançar um novo set de cores para o verão, e eu tive a sorte de me terem sido enviadas, 2 destas cores para review, o 61 - um rosa vivo, e o 62 - um verde menta.

Eu não sou fã de rosa, por isso vamos começar por aí. :P
Para começar, este verniz NÃO é neon! Não sei porquê, mas a minha máquina fotográfica teimou em captá-lo neon...tentei mil e uma definições diferentes, mas totalmente em vão...a máquina foi mais teimosa do que eu desta vez. -.-'

Aqui temos o Purple 61, em 3 camadas e sem top coat.

Formula in this one was ok, nothing spectacular. A bit on the sheer side, hence the 3 coats.

A fórmula deste é ok, nada de espectacular. É pouco pigmentada, daí as 3 camadas. 

Next up, we have the most adorable mint green! I'm a sucker for colours like this. This is #62, in 3 coats and  again, no top coat.

De seguida, temos o verdinho menta mais fofo de sempre! Adoro este tipo de cores. Este é o 62, em 3 camadas também, e novamente, sem top coat.

Tricky one, unfortunately...Even though this one had great pigmentation, I still needed the 3 coats to even it all out..It can be streaky and leave bald patches if you're not careful. Still, that gorgeous colour is totally worth it! 

I really like how fast these dry, and are super shiny without any top coat on. Another plus on this brand is their brush, flat, soft and in the exact size for my nails, which makes it really easy to use. 

Complicado este, infelizmente...Apesar de ter uma óptima pigmentação, continuei a precisar das 3 camadas para parecer uniforme. Consegue ser chatinho de passar, e tem a tendência a ficar manchado, ou com "zonas carecas". Ainda assim, a cor faz valer bem a pena o trabalho!

Gosto de como secaram rapidinho e têm bastante brilho quando secos, mesmo sem top coat. Outra coisa que adoro nos vernizes desta marca, é o seu maravilhoso pincel. Achatadinho, suave e com o tamanho ideal para as minhas unhas, o que torna a aplicação dos vernizes bastante mais fácil.

Argyle pattern with Purple Professional #8

Finally some time to post! Been busy busy lately, with my internship and the 2 reports that won't write themselves, unfortunatelly... But lets not talk about that!

The nail polish I'll be showing you today, is one of the 2 that I got from Purple Professional for Christmas, and I was so very lucky to get it...I wasn't here when my package came (was at my parent's for the holidays), and it was sent back to them, but Purple was kind enough to get it shipped right back to me, I didn't even had time to email them explaining what happened, so here's a big thanks for Purple Professional!

This one is #8, a pink toned burgundy that I immediately fell in love with! This brand never ceases to amaze me, they have wide range of gorgeous cremes and their formula is always spot on. Easy to apply and to clean, doesn't drag, won't flood your cuticules and they have great shine (you'll have to believe in me in this one, as I already have top coat on the photos). I used 2 coats here, but 1 was enough, it had great pigmentation and coverage. Another thing I love in these, and I don't think I'd mentioned it before, is their brush. It's flat and soft and so easy to work with!

I paired it together with Innisfree #65 and did an argyle pattern with it, using some striping tape.

Finalmente um tempinho para postar! Tenho andado ocupadita ultimamente, com o estágio e com os 2 relatórios que, infelizmente, não se escrevem sozinhos...Mas não falemos de coisas tristes!

O verniz que vos venho mostrar hoje, é um de dois enviados pela Purple Professional, durante o Natal e que eu tive muita sorte em ter recebido...Não estava por cá quando mos foram enviados, estava em casa de meus pais durante as férias, e por isso foi enviado de volta ao remetente, mas a Purple foi muito atenciosa, e reenviou-me o pacotinho sem sequer eu ter tido tempo para explicar-lhes o sucedido, por isso aqui fica o meu muito obrigada.

Este é o nº8, um verniz num tom rosado de borgonha, pelo qual eu me apaixonei imediatamente! É uma marca que nunca pára de me surpreender, têm uma grande gama de vernizes cremosos e a fórmula dos que já experimentei é sempre perfeita. Fáceis de aplicar e de limpar, não arrastam, não se acumulam em volta das cutículas e têm bastante brilho (neste ponto vão ter de acreditar nas minhas palavras, porque nas fotos já tenho top coat). Usei 2 camadas deste verniz, mas uma seria suficiente, já que possui uma óptima pigmentação e poder de cobertura. Outra coisa que adoro nestes vernizes, e que não sei se já referi, é o pincel. É achatado, muito macio e é extremamente fácil de trabalhar com ele!

Usei-o juntamente com Innisfree nº65, e com a ajuda de fitinha de nail art, desenhei um padrão de argyle (como raio se chama isto em português? o_O).

I have to say, these were a lot of work!! I don't think I'll be using any striping tape in the next few weeks. I have to recover from the trauma first, but I do love the outcome, at least I feel like it was worth all the lost time and the frustration of trying to get it right. Only thing I wasn't happy with, is that Seche Vite changed the colour of the tape, it was copper, not golden...Oh well, still looks good, though! :P

Devo dizer que isto deu uma trabalheira do caraças!! Acho que não me apanham a mexer em fitinhas de nail art nem tão cedo. Primeiro tenho de recuperar do trauma, apesar de adorar o resultado final, ao menos acho que valeu a pena todo o tempo perdido e toda a frustração de tentar com que isto ficasse perfeitinho. A única coisa que não achei muita piada, foi ao facto do Seche Vite ter mudado a cor da fitinha, era cobre e não dourada...mas paciência, ainda acho que ficou bonito! :P

Nail Mail Is The Best Kind of Mail!

Hi girls! How was everyone's weekend? I hope it was good, mine was spent playing Guild Wars 2, how productive... :X But hey, it was fun! xD

This was the one I got on friday, I bought it on E(vil)bay, a couple of weeks ago and it finally got here, it was a long trip all the way from Korea! This is what I'm wearing now and it's gorgeous, expect a post about it soon. It looks like a Deborah Lippmann Ray of Light dupe to me, but I can't really be sure.

Este foi o que chegou na sexta-feira, comprei-o pelo E(vil)bay, há umas 2 semanas atrás e finalmente chegou, fez uma longa viagem desde a Coreia! É o que estou a usar agora e é lindo, podem esperar um post sobre ele brevemente. Parece-me um dupe do Ray of Light da Deborah Lippmann, mas não posso afirmar nada com certeza.

And all these got here today! They're from a swap I did with Raquel (the other Raquel, as I call her xD), from the blog Cupcakes & Airwaves, she's a sweetheart and I really enjoyed getting to know her better! We've been planning this since the beginning of september!! It took us a long time to get everything ready to ship, but I wouldn't change that at all! I loved all of our conversations throughout this time. ^^

Oh Baby!

After taking photos of the Purple Professional #52, I felt like adding something on top of that and a quick look through my stash brought Pure Ice Oh Baby! to my attention, so I layered 2 coats of it over Purple's beautiful green and finished it with a coat of Kiko's matte top coat.

Here's what came out of that experience:

I've got Pure Ice Oh Baby! since May, but I never got around to actually using it until now...Why didn't I try it sooner? I have no idea, but I'm in love!

As you can see from the photos, it shifts from blue (a bit more on the green side over this colour) to purple depending on the light, and I can't really tell if these are really small flakies or something else...If anyone knows, please, enlighten me! xD
