[ABC Nails] G & H is for Gosh and Hard Candy

Hey everyone! 

I know, I know...I come and go, but this time it wasn't really my choice, my internet was being a b*tch to me and my landlord is very slow taking care of things like this. But hey, I finally made it! Now I'll just be playing catch up again...story of my life! xD 

Ok, so if you guys recall, I was doing the ABC Nail Challenge with Rosana and Maggie before I stopped posting. They continued to do so, and now I will be trying to catch up to them, which will be difficult, since they're already on L and I stopped at F! Let's do this and start with G and H on the same post. 

For the letter G, I chose Gosh. It's not a brand I really love, I mostly never buy from them, but I really like the colours that I do have, especially this one, Miss Minty. 

In this manicure I'm wearing 2 coats of Gosh Miss Minty, 2 coats of Marylins 109 on my middle finger and 2 coats of Innisfree 101on my ring finger. On my index I tried, for the first time, a stamping decal. For that I used the Marylins, Kiko 705 to fill in the feathers and a Gals GA38 plate.  

For the letter H, I went with Hard Candy, Lava. I got this tiny bottle as a gift, from a blogsale purchase, for over 2 years now, and if it wasn't for this challenge, I guess I would never use it. Which is sad, cause it is really gorgeous! Downside is that it stains like no tomorrow! Cuticules and nails...I only had this for 1 day, and it turned my nails completely pink! For me, that is unacceptable...

I had no idea of what to do with it, and I think I must have spent an hour or so, sitting on the floor, trying to find a good match for it. I finally chose Misa Catch a Flick. On my thumb and index, I stamped using a BM-323 plate and Konad white.

Anyway, hello girls! How's everyone doing? 

A while back, I was quite lucky to score some beautiful russian polishes to review for you guys. I'm talking about El Corazón and, today, I bring you a lovely red from their Confetti collection. It doesn't have a name, but it goes by the number of N511a. I wore it by itself for a couple of days, but it chipped on my middle finger before I had the time to take some photos of it, so I decided to spice it up a bit, and make something different on 2 of my fingers.

Eu fui bastante sortuda, e consegui alguns vernizes russos, lindos que só eles,  para review. Estou a falar da marca El Corazón e, hoje, trago-vos um vermelho adorável da colecção Confetti. Não tem nome, mas é conhecido por N511a. Usei-o sozinho, durante uns dias, mas lascou numa unha, antes que tivesse tempo para tirar fotos, por isso decidi fazer qualquer coisita de diferente em 2 das minhas unhas.

For this look, I used El Corazón Confetti N511a, El Corazón Impression 235 (will be reviewing later) and the stamping was done with Marylins Nail Art in Red, and a BM-323 plate. Here's what came of it:

Para este look, usei o El Corazón Confetti N511a, El Corazón Impression 235 (também vou fazer review deste, num futuro próximo), a estampagem foi feita com um Marylins de nail art, em vermelho, e a placa BM 323. Aqui fica o resultado:

N511a has a great formula and covers in 1 easy coat, even though I still applied 2, out of pure habit. This polish has the perfect consistency, and that makes it really easy to paint your nails, without flooding your cuticules, or needing much of a clean up. Of course the brush helps out with this too. It's not a flat brush, like many of us prefer, but I found it has the perfect size for my nails, and it is really soft and easy to manage. 

I am not sure if this was intended to be a sand/textured polish, or if it just dries slightly rough, and matte, due to the amount of microglitter in it, but I decided to leave it as it dried, and passed on the top coat. It doesn't have a lot of texture in it, so that might be a plus for those of us who are not used to this kind of nail polish and don't like having rough things on our nails, but the matte look with the glitter, looks absolutely gorgeous, and it's still very sparkly! 

O N511a tem uma excelente fórmula e cobre facilmente, com 1 camada, apesar de eu ter dado 2, mas por puro hábito. Este verniz tem uma consistência perfeita, o que faz com que seja muito fácil pintar as unhas sem inundarmos as nossas cutículas de verniz e com que a limpeza necessária seja mínima, ou mesmo inexistente. Claro que o pincel também ajuda neste feito. Não é um pincel achatado, como muitas de nós preferimos, mas achei que tinha o tamanho ideal para as minhas unhas, e é muito macio e fácil de manusear.

Não tenho a certeza se este verniz é suposto ser um sand/texturado, ou se simplesmente seca ligeiramente rugoso e matte, devido à enorme quantidade de microglitter que contém, mas decidi deixá-lo tal e qual como secou, e não usei top coat. Não tem muita textura, o que pode ser uma vantagem para as meninas que não estão habituadas a este acabamento, ou simplesmente não gostam de sentir muita rugosidade nas unhas, mas a verdade é que este acabamento matte, com o glitter, faz com que seja um verniz absolutamente lindo, e ainda assim, bastante brilhante!

I tried to do the stamping with this colour, as it has awesome coverage, but I wasn't able to properly transfer the image to my stamper. Not sure if it's because of the plate I chose (I have a hard time stamping with BMs), my XL stamper, or because I'm just a noob at it and failed to do it fast enough, before the polished dried on the plate. Maybe a mix of all of the above? Anyway, I know some of the Confetti do stamp, as Cristina, from The Clockwise Nail Polished, showed us here. 

PS - Some of the photos are mirrored, because they were taken using a mirror. xD 

Tentei carimbar com esta cor, já que o verniz possui uma grande capacidade de cobertura, mas não fui capaz de transferir a imagem, de maneira decente, para o meu carimbo. Não sei se foi problema da placa que escolhi (tenho alguma dificuldade em carimbar com as BM), do meu carimbo XL, ou porque sou uma perfeita naba no assunto e falhei em fazê-lo de maneira rápida o suficiente, antes que o verniz secasse na placa. Talvez tenha sido uma mistura de todas as opções anteriores? De qualquer maneira, sei que alguns vernizes desta linha Confetti são capazes de carimbar, como a Cristina do The Clockwise Nail Polish, nos mostrou aqui.

PS - Algumas das fotos estão invertidas, porque foram tiradas usando um espelho. xD

I'm still here! I've been a very bad blogger lately, so thanks to all of you who stuck with me.

Today I won't be showing you one polish or some nail art I did, I'm going t be showing you lots! One of the reasons I don't post as much is that I've become overwhelmed with the amount of old swatches and manicures I've done, that never saw the light of day this in the blog, I find it hard to not post the new stuff I do, but then I end up not posting at all because I know that I have lots of old photos that still need some editing and posting...So, today, I finally decided that I should just post them all (or almost all, saved some reviews and manis I thought deserved more than just one photo).

Ainda ando por aqui! Tenho sido uma péssima blogger ultimamente, por isso agradeço a todas as que continuam deste lado a ler-me.

Hoje não vos vou mostrar apenas um verniz ou nail art, mas sim vários! Uma das razões por que não tenho postado ultimamente, é precisamente por ter muita coisa atrasada e por isso fico sem saber para onde me virar. My Christmas Nails

Hey everyone!
Finally, I managed to come here and post what I wore on my nails during Christmas. I said I wanted something simple and easy to do, and even though this doesn't look very simple, I can guarantee it was really easy and quick!
I started with 2 coats of Nubar Vino and 2 coats of Marylins #19 on my accent nail. After it dried completely, I stamped in gold some poinsettia flowers on my index with the DRK-B plate, did a very fast gradient on my middle and thumb nails (tutorial here),  a christmas tree on my ring nail (tutorial here), and added some stripes to my pinky using striping tape to get my lines to look as perfect as possible.

Finalmente consegui vir cá para vos mostrar as minhas unhas deste natal. Já vos tinha dito que queria fazer algo simples e rápido, e apesar da manicure parecer algo complexa, posso assegurar-vos que foi muito fácil e rápido de se fazer!
Comecei com 2 camadas de Nubar Vino e 2 camadas do Marylins #19 no meu anelar. Depois de tudo bem sequinho, carimbei no indicador, a dourado, umas poinsétias da placa DRK-B, nos dedos médio e polegar fiz um gradiente rápido (tutorial aqui), no anelar desenhei uma árvore de natal (tutorial aqui), e no mindinho fiz umas risquinhas com ajuda de fitinhas de nail art, de forma a que as minhas linhas ficassem o mais perfeitas possivel.

I didn't get any nail polishes for christmas, all I got was the camera that I've been using since november, a new cell phone and some pyjamas. Can't really complain, those were all great gifts, but I would have loved if someone had remembered what I love to get the most... What about you guys? Did you get any nail polish under your christmas tree?

Não recebi nem um vernizinho este natal, só recebi a máquina fotográfica que tenho usado desde novembro, um telemóvel novo e um pijama. Não me posso queixar, foram óptimos presentes, mas gostava que alguém se tivesse lembrado do que mais gosto de receber... E vocês? Tiveram algum verniz debaixo da vossa árvore de natal? 

Christmas Polishes Top 10

Been M.I.A again, but I'm at my parent's for the holidays, and the internet here is sucking balls!! I had to refresh blogger about a hundred times, before I could upload the photos for today... >.<
Anyway, today's post is about my favourite nail polishes for this season! Alexandra, from Things About..., was the first to do it, and then some other girls from our FB group decided to do the same.
I didn't want this to be a huge post, with lots of photos and blah blah, so I grouped them together according to colour, and skipped the usual descriptions as the photos are pretty accurate.

Andei desaparecida novamente, mas estou em casa dos meus pais para as festas, e a net aqui tem sido uma boa desgraça!! Para fazer este post, tive de andar a refrescar o blogger umas cem vezes...>.<

De qualquer maneira, o post de hoje é sobre os meus vernizes preferidos para esta época natalícia! A ideia foi da Alexandra, do Things About..., mas eu e mais umas meninas do nosso grupo de FB, decidimos juntarmo-nos e fazer o nosso top também.
Não queria que este post ficasse gigante, com fotos e blá blá a mais, por isso agrupei os vernizes por cor e ignorei as típicas descrições, já que as fotos estão bastante fiéis.

This last one, doesn't fit in any of the previous categories, but it always reminds me of Christmas, probably because it has lots of green and red flakies (and some blue, but lets ignore that xD).

Este último, não se insere em nenhuma das categorias anteriores, mas sempre que o vejo lembro-me do Natal, provavelmente porque está carregadinho de flocos vermelhos e verdes (e alguns azuis, mas vamos ignorar este facto xD).

Now, I'm about to do my Christmas nails for tomorrow and I have no idea of what to do...I already did some reindeers on one of my friends, and I have another one coming here tomorrow morning and she wants the same, so that's obviously out of the question for me...I also don't want something too intricate and elaborate, as my last manicure took me 3h to do with some tiny brushes (it was for a KitGuru contest, we had to do some "geeky" nails, I'll post about it as soon as the results are out). So, I'm stumped...

Agora, estou prestes a fazer as minhas unhas de Natal para amanhã, e não tenho a mínima ideia do que por nas unhas...Já fiz umas renas a uma das minhas amigas e tenho outra que vem cá, amanhã de manhã, e quer o mesmo, obviamente que já não vou querer fazer o mesmo em mim...Também não quero algo muito trabalhoso e elaborado, já que a minha última manicure demorou 3h a fazer com uns pincéis minusculos (foi para um concurso do KitGuru, tinha de fazer algo "geeky" nas unhas, postarei sobre o assunto assim que saiam os resultados). Estou sem ideias...
