[ABC Nails] K, L, M id for Kinetics, L'oreal and Max Factor

Brace yourselves, a shit ton of photos is incoming!

Now that the warning is done, lets move on to another [ABC Nails] challenge that I'm doing with Maggie and Rosana, as you all know by now.

For this first manicure, I chose 2 of my favourite Kinetics, Sugar Blue, that I used on my middle finger, index and thumb, and Smoky Pearl on my ring finger. Both of them have great formulas and cover perfectly with 2 easy coats. On my pinky I used 2 coats of O.P.I My Private Jet and to spice it up a little, I did a stamping decal to apply on my ring finger. For that I used a GA36 plate, Essence Black is Back and filled in the bows with Sugar Blue and My Private Jet.

As for L, I went with L'oreal Hidden Gems, that I applied 2 coats of, on my thumb, index and pinky. On my middle and ring fingers I have 2 coats of Colorama Mar Sem Fim, stamped with Essence Black is Back, using a Fauxnad m78 plate. (Excuse the tiny nubs, but I've done these about a month ago and was saving them for this post.)

And lastly, I finally picked up my Max Factor Fantasy Fire. I've had this polish on my drawer for about 2 years now and never used it...SHAME ON ME! It is a must have (and must use!!) and I'm so glad that I'm doing this challenge or I'd never go for it. Here, I layered one coat of Fantasy Fire over Leticia Well Professional 143 (gorgeous and cheap purple!).
Oh, this was a pain in the ass to photograph, so I just chose the photos where it's beauty shows the most, the rest of the photos were kind of meh...

Now, that I'm fully up to date and can post at the same time as the other girls, I realized that the next post should be up tomorrow and I have no nails ready for that, so oops! D: So I guess you can expect that one by wednesday at most...goddam, I'm always running late, gotta get my shit together. -.-''

Well, hope you enjoyed this post, don't forget to tell me which manicure is your favourite and to check the other girls posts.

Have a good monday!

Super Mario Nails!

Hi, hi everyone! How was your weekend? Mine was short as always, it's so hard for me to get up on mondays and go to work... -.-'

Today, I bring you a fun manicure that I did for a contest during my Christmas vacations. The theme was "Geek Nails" and I had a hard time figuring out what to do...I was going for Guild Wars 2 Golems and Asuras, but I realised I don't have the skills to draw that, unfortunately...Other options were Pacman and arcade games. After a few days of thinking hard about it, I finally went for a classic, Super Mario! Really, how could anyone go wrong with Super Mario? I bet we all played that as kids. :P

I took inspiration on this photo and this is what came out of that:

I didn't win, and the contest was a bit confusing (rules changing all the time), but it was still fun to take part in something like this, and I'm very proud of my work on these. ^^ If you'd want to read more about the contest or take a look at the top 10 manicures, you'll find the final article about it here.

Oh, by the way, the base colour is from Leticia Well (reviewed here, and please excuse the not so good photos) and all the rest was done with my mom's acrilic paints (gotta take advantage of your mom's stuff when you go home to visit xD).

Eradicate H8 in the nail polish community!

Bullying is not funny. It is not cool. It is not right. And more importantly, it is not okay.
Most of us are, thankfully, residents of countries that support tolerance and many of our families have settled in these places simply for that reason. Generations later, it is our responsibility to perpetuate that message of tolerance across our new social platforms, including the internet.

As members of the nail polish blogging community, we all share a love of beauty, color, and lacquer. Other than that, we are remarkably different: from our race to our religion to our hair color...even to our polish application techniques. To marginalize anyone because of those differences is completely unacceptable and today I take a stand against that. I refuse to allow other people's view of "normal" dictate how I behave, believe, and blog.

In solidarity with a multitude of bloggers linked below, my purple manicure represents my proud commitment to the No H8 movement. Today, November 8, I dedicate my post to ending bullying of any kind and to encouraging diversity and imperfection among our colorful community.

Today, lots of nail polish bloggers are sticking together to raise awareness on this subject, by doing a purple manicure. Fortunately I was never a victim of this, and especially not here, on my little corner of the internet.  I have gotten nothing but lovely comments from all of you, but some of my fellow bloggers weren't as lucky as me, and got some mean and nasty comments that were totally uncalled for! Sure, not everyone likes what you do, or how you do it, you can't please everyone all the time, but if you can't find a good thing to say, or give some CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, then it's just better to let it go and say nothing at all. Also, if you don't like someone's nails, nail art or whatever, then don't follow that blog, no one is forcing you to! Let's not forget that behind some random nails you see on the internet, there's a real person with feelings and we're all here doing the same thing, sharing our love for nail polish...So let's keep supporting and learning from each other and leave all this bullying behind us, we are better than that!

And, after all this rant, here's my manicure:

I used 2 coats of Leticia Well Profesional #143 and then stamped with Catrice Forget Me Not and my DRK-B. Not too happy about this, it didn't come out as I had hoped and my stamping kind of failed here, but I didn't have time to redo it...

Even though I'm considering this a failed mani, I still wanted to participate in the NO H8 event today, so that's what you get! :P

31 Days Challenge #11 - #16

I'm still alive!

Sorry for not posting since last friday, but it has been a crazy week since then! On saturday we had a party at night and I had to do my mom's make-up and nails, my make-up and nails and another friend's nails, no time left for posting...then on sunday I had to help that same friend, as she was in the process of moving. So, my nails have been bare since last sunday. I don't even remember the last time they were naked for so long! xD

As you can imagine, I had a lot to catch up to, and today was literally nails day!

This will be a looooong post, so get ready and don't say I didn't warn you.

#11 Polka Dots

For this I used China Glaze L8R G8R (that I got from Anna's blogsale) and Nubar Reclaim.

#12 Stripes

This was done with Gosh Forest Green, Gosh Early Green and some striping tape.

#13 Animal Print

Uh oh...leopard print again! But this time it was all hand made, no stamping involved. For this, I used Orly Nite Owl, Leticia Well #146 and Kiss Nail Art in black.

#14 Flowers

Flowers aren't really my thing, but I guess I did ok on these. I used Kiko 339 for the base colour, Gosh Bubble Gum and Risqué Pink Fluor for the flowers, and Gosh Forest Floor and Gosh Early Green for the leaves.

#15 Delicate Print

Boy, this one was tough...I didn't really know what to do and this was my 3rd try at this, as I wasn't happy with the other 2. Here I used Essence Modern Romance stamped with Essence Stampy Polish in silver and my DRK-B.

#16 Tribal Print

My favourite ones from today! I had never done any tribal nails, but these were so simple and fun to do and I love the final result.
I used a nude, once again (must be on a nude kind of day), this time it was Essence Hazelnut Cream Pie. The blue stripe is China Glaze For Audrey and the white was all done with Kiss Nail Art in white, obviously. :P

Ufff, finally over! It's really a bad idea to fall behind on these challenges, I know I wont be doing it again.  :P
