Let's Put Some Bling Bling On Mah Nails!

Hello, people! ^^

Cindy, the creator of Shimmer polishes was kind enough to send me quite a few of her creations for review, so be prepared to see a lot of those around here, during the next few weeks. The first one I have to show you is Candace.
Candace contains small glitter in black and gold, and large, golden holographic, hex glitter. It's an absolute glitter bomb! I wasn't sure I was going to like it, because I'm not really a fan of gold colours on my nails, but I ended up loving it!

Here, I have 2 coats of Candace, over 2 coats of Kinetics Dawn Tea, stamped with Essence Black is Back and a DRK-B plate:

A Cindy, criadora dos vernizes Shimmer, enviou-me umas quantas das suas criações para testar, por isso estejam preparadas para verem muitos destes lindos por aqui, durante as próximas semanas. O primeiro que tenho para vos mostrar é o Candace.
O Candace está recheadinho de pequenos glitters pretos e dourados, e outros maiorzinhos, hexagonais. dourados e holográficos. É uma verdadeira bomba de glitter! Não tinha a certeza se ia gostar dele, pois não sou grande fã de dourados nas unhas, mas acabei por adorá-lo!

Aqui, tenho 2 camadas do Candace, por cima de 2 camadas do Kinetics Dawn Tea, carimbado com o Essence Black is Back e com a placa DRK-B:

Formula wise, this was pretty good, surprisingly good! The brush comes out filled with glitter and it goes on the nail really smoothly, no need to dab and drag glitters around for good placement, so that is a plus! It's a top coat eater though...here I have 3 coats of top coat on. o.o One of Essence Gel Look, one of Kinetics Kwik Kote, then stamp, then a final coat of Kinetics Kwik Kote.

I loved wearing this, it made my nails sparkle so much, I got a bunch of compliments on it from random people everywhere, and that doesn't happen much! :P

A fórmula deste é bastante boa, surpreendentemente boa! O pincel vem carregadinho de glitter e espalha-se pela unha facilmente, sem ter a necessidade de andar a pescar ou a tentar colocá-lo uniformemente na unha. O único senão é que "come" muito top coat...usei 3 camadas no total. Uma do Essence Gel Look, outra do Kinetics Kwik Kote, carimbei e depois finalizei com outra camada do Kwik Kote.

Adorei usá-lo, as minhas unhas andaram cheias de brilho e recebi montanhas de elogios, onde quer que eu fosse! E olhem que isto não acontece muita vez! :P

Kinetics - Red Gown

Hello, hello! Happy friday, everyone! ^^

Trying to get my blogging mojo back and start posting more often, but it's been hard! Baby steps, people...
Today's post is about a perfet red, Red Gown by Kinetics. I love reds, they always make me feel so sexy and elegant, and there was a time of my life that I'd only wear this color. Even my boyfriend (who really hates nail polish xD) likes it when I have red nails, but I guess that's every men favourite nail polish colour, right? :P
Anyway, I completely fell in love with this one! It's a metallic red and it belongs to Kinetic's Spring-Summer collection, Crazy Daisy.

Ando a tentar recuperar aquele gostinho pelo blog e a ver se posto mais frequentemente, mas devo dizer que tem sido difícil! Passinhos de bebé, minha gente... :P
O post de hoje é sobre um vermelho perfeito, o Red Gown da Kinetics. Adoro vermelhos, é daquelas cores que me faz sempre sentir sexy e elegante, e há uns anos atrás, era a única cor que usava. Até o meu namorado (que detesta todo e qualquer verniz xD) gosta quando uso um vermelho nas unhas, mas acho q este deve ser mal comum a todos os homens, por eles só usaríamos vermelho, certo? :P
De qualquer maneira, apaixonei-me loucamente por este! Tem um acabamento metálico e pertence à mais recente colecção da Kinetics, a Crazy Daisy.

The formula on this one is really good, as all of the others I've tested so far, and it has great pigmentation. I used 2 coats here, but out of pure habit, 1 was more than enough. It also stamps great, even over back, I tested it but forgot to take a photo, so sorry... :S
The brush that comes with the bottle is flat. really soft and easy to work with. Oh, and this red won't stain your cuticles while cleaning up! We all know how reds can be a PAIN to clean up sometimes and leave your cuticules and skin all pink...I can tell you that this won't happen with Red Gown.

A fórmula deste menino é excelente, factor comum a todos os Kinetics que testei, até agora, e tem uma óptima pigmentação. Usei 2 camadas aqui, mas por puro hábito, já que uma seria mais q suficiente. Também  testei carimbar com ele sobre preto e ficou perfeito, mas esqueci-me de tirar foto ao teste, as minhas desculpas..:S
O pincel que vem no frasquinho é achatado, muito macio e fácil de controlar. Ah, e já agora, este vermelho não mancha as cutículas  Todas nós sabemos como os vermelhos podem ser chatos de limpar, e é bastante frequente ficarmos com a pele toda rosada ao tentar limpar os excessos...posso vos dizer que isto não acontece com o Red Gown.

Quick post tonight! Just wanted to share a tape mani I did some time ago.
Really loved this look on myself, and it's something I really need to do more often.

Post rapidinho hoje à noite! Só vim cá para partilhar uma manicure que fiz há uns tempos.
Gostei imenso deste "look" em mim, e acho que é algo que tenho de fazer mais vezes.

For this mani, I used 2 coats of Kinetics Smoky Pearl, 1 coat of Wellnails The North Pole is a real place (both reviewed here and here), and the black is Essence Black is Back, easily a one coater.

On another note, I was recently contacted by clothingloves.net asking me if I'd be interested in reviewing some jewelery for them. I agreed, and that means I'll be incorporating those in my manicure photos once in a while.
From what I gathered, clothingloves.net is a website dedicated to wholesale clothes and acessories and as a fashion lover (although I only post nails here xD), I really enjoyed their selection of brooches, dresses and coats. Autumn Tribal Mix & Match

Finally, here I am to show you a bit more of the tribal nails I used for my header!
I've been wanting to do these for so long now, but I knew it would take me quite a bit of time to get these done, and like I said before...I'm really lazy sometimes! xD Anyway, I was bored and watching Doctor Who the other night (just started watching it), when I decided it was time to try it. I had no idea of what I wanted to do, or how, all I knew was that I wanted to use these exact colours, so I just picked them up, and went with the flow...

Finalmente, cá estou eu para vos mostrar mais um pouco das unhas tribais que coloquei no cabeçalho do blog! Era algo que queria fazer já há algum tempo, mas sabia que era coisa para demorar, e como já disse antes...às vezes sou mesmo preguiçosa! xD De qualquer maneira, no outro dia à noite, estava eu aborrecida e a ver Doctor Who (estou mesmo a começar a ver), quando decidi que era este o momento para experimentar. Não fazia a mínima ideia do que queria fazer, nem como, só sabia que queria usar estas cores, então peguei nelas e deixei-me levar pela imaginação.

Kiko 346 - Kinectic Dawn Tea - Marylins 109 - Kiss Black Striper

I started by doing the tribal pattern on my ring and index finger, I felt like I should stop there and do something different on my other fingers, or I'd risk thinking it was too much and not liking it in the end...I added some random dots on my pinky (not too happy with those, they could look better) and a gradient on my middle finger and thumb. I didn't follow any tutorial for the tribal, but Lucy, from Lucy's Stash, has a great one for this kind of gradient here.

Comecei por fazer o padrão tribal no meu anelar e indicador e achei por bem parar por ai e fazer algo diferente nos restantes dedos, ou correria o risco de achar que tinha sido demais e não gostar no final...Adicionei umas bolinhas  à sorte no mindinho (não estou muito satisfeita com estas, acho que poderiam estar melhores) e um gradiente no médio e polegar. Não segui nenhum tutorial para o tribal, mas a Lucy, do blog Lucy's Stash, tem um óptimo tutorial para este tipo de gradiente aqui. 

It's not perfect, I can see some flaws, but all this was done with a simple striping brush and a dotting tool, and I'm not too great with either of those...Also, my top coat (I used Better Than Gel Nails by Essence here) decided that my mani was missing some bubbles here and there, not good... -.-'

Não está perfeito, consigo ver umas falhinhas mas isto foi tudo feito com um pequeno pincel de nail art (daqueles de fazer riscas, por incrivel que pareça, não sei o nome em português) e um boleador, e eu não sou muito boa com nenhum destes instrumentos. No final, o meu top coat (usei o BTGN) decidiu que faltava, na minha manicure, umas bolhinhas aqui e ali... -.-'

Here's a bonus photo of my right hand, I only did the gradient there, as that was simple enough for me to do with my left hand. By the way, this and the header image (photo of the left hand, but mirrored) where taken in a Blanco fitting room, with a gorgeous top I found there! And no, I didn't buy it...

Aqui têm uma foto de bonús da minha mão direita. Só fiz o gradiente nesta, já que era simples o suficiente para ser feito com a mão esquerda. Já agora, esta e a foto do cabeçalho (que é da mão esquerda, mas está espelhada) foram tiradas num provador da Blanco, com um top lindo que encontrei por lá! E não, não o comprei... 

Let's Pink! - Kinetics Fall/Winter 2013

Yay! Finally, I managed to get all these photos ready to go! I edited twice as much, but that would make this post waaaaaayyy too long, so I'll stick with a couple per polish. Ok, getting to the point...

Today, I have swatches of the entire Fall/Winter 2013 collection by Kinetics. This collection is called Let's Pink and the brand describes this as a "return to the classics after a bright summer. But these classics have a life of their own! The new collection starts with brilliant metallic elements featuring day and night hues. The line's main accent is Let’s Pink polish, challenging the dark elegance of Black Silk and Mock Black. The collection is rounded out by Signature Wine and Royal Ink in rich and saturated notes, and slight cashmere accents in Beige Anyway polish."

Here are the 12 colours that take part in this collection:

   - Pink Silence

Pink Silence is a bubblegum pink with some silver shimmers. I failed to capture the shimmer on the nail, but it is visible in the bottle shot. This was the sheerest of the collection and the only one that required 3 coats. I actually liked this shade on me, who knew? :p

   - Let's Pink

This is the one that names the collection, and to me it's the most boring, most common shade of pink...Everything in this screams old fashion, from the colour to the frosty finish and the visible brush strokes. This was my least favourite from the entire collection, I just don't see the appeal in these kind of shades. :S

   - Signature Wine 

Now that we got the pinks out of the way, things are getting better! Signature Wine is a beautiful burgundy, with a lot of pink in it's formula, since sometimes it looks like a really dark pink, depending on the light.

   - Illusion

Illusion has a weird colour...to me, it's a mix of purple with gray, it's one of those hard to define colours that looks really different under different lights. It has a lot of small shimmer in some different colours. It's another frosty...I liked this one better in the bottle than on my nails.

   - Royal Ink

This one is a very dark, deep purple without looking black on the nail. Not really a new shade of purple, but one that I always love!

   - Smoky Pearl  

And another frosty...This one is a light silverish white with a hint of green (?? Seriously, this is a really hard colour to describe, and since I'm always soooo good at it... but hey, I try! xD)  in it's formula. It's another old fashion colour, kind of reminds me of those frosty whites my aunt used to wear when I was a kid. xD

   - Dawn Tea

Now this is something new to me! I don't have any other colour like this in my stash. This one is a light greenish khaki and I absolutely love it. It's my second favourite from the entire collection!

   - Beige Anyway

Not much to say about this one..It's beige with gold shimmer. Really pretty and elegant!

   - Twilight

Very dark brown with a hint of green in it's formula. I'm a sucker for brown nail polishes during the winter, so this one is just perfect for me.

   - Grey, no Pink

 

Ok, I don't get the name of this polish, help? xD Other than that it's a very pretty medium gray.

   - Mock Black

It's not black, this I can tell you! It's a dark gray, but not really black!

   - Black Silver

Aww, finally my favourite from the bunch! Now this one really is black, filled with shimmer that sometimes looks like really small flakies. The shimmer reflects some green and purple, but it's really hard to capture with my camera.

Formula wise, these were absolutely perfect! They all took 2 coats to make them look like this (except Pink Silence that needed 3), but they're so easy to apply, one could really say "they go on like butter"! I think it's one of the best formulas I've tried, I didn't need to do any clean up after applying these and all of the photos were taken without base or top coat, as you can see, they're really shiny. Even the smell on these is quite pleasant... o_O

Colour wise, I really loved the cremes and the shimmers, not the frosts... I noticed that what they call metallics, to me are nothing but frosts... :S Overall, I think it's a really nice collection with different colours for everyone. How did you like it? Any favourites?
