Yes, I'm still alive...even though I went through some crappy stuff these past few months, I'm still here. Sorry for the long absence and for leaving in the middle of a giveaway, but I really had a tough time and even had to move twice in less than a month. But I won't bore you with my problems and I'll just stick to the nails and nail polish.

Now, I didn't do much on my nails these past 2 months, always a plain colour when I had the time, and didn't take any photos of my nails, until recently, so I'll just show you a couple of photos I took before all the craziness happened, and a couple from this past week, when I started getting back into the nail stuff. Argyle pattern with Purple Professional #8

Finally some time to post! Been busy busy lately, with my internship and the 2 reports that won't write themselves, unfortunatelly... But lets not talk about that!

The nail polish I'll be showing you today, is one of the 2 that I got from Purple Professional for Christmas, and I was so very lucky to get it...I wasn't here when my package came (was at my parent's for the holidays), and it was sent back to them, but Purple was kind enough to get it shipped right back to me, I didn't even had time to email them explaining what happened, so here's a big thanks for Purple Professional!

This one is #8, a pink toned burgundy that I immediately fell in love with! This brand never ceases to amaze me, they have wide range of gorgeous cremes and their formula is always spot on. Easy to apply and to clean, doesn't drag, won't flood your cuticules and they have great shine (you'll have to believe in me in this one, as I already have top coat on the photos). I used 2 coats here, but 1 was enough, it had great pigmentation and coverage. Another thing I love in these, and I don't think I'd mentioned it before, is their brush. It's flat and soft and so easy to work with!

I paired it together with Innisfree #65 and did an argyle pattern with it, using some striping tape.

Finalmente um tempinho para postar! Tenho andado ocupadita ultimamente, com o estágio e com os 2 relatórios que, infelizmente, não se escrevem sozinhos...Mas não falemos de coisas tristes!

O verniz que vos venho mostrar hoje, é um de dois enviados pela Purple Professional, durante o Natal e que eu tive muita sorte em ter recebido...Não estava por cá quando mos foram enviados, estava em casa de meus pais durante as férias, e por isso foi enviado de volta ao remetente, mas a Purple foi muito atenciosa, e reenviou-me o pacotinho sem sequer eu ter tido tempo para explicar-lhes o sucedido, por isso aqui fica o meu muito obrigada.

Este é o nº8, um verniz num tom rosado de borgonha, pelo qual eu me apaixonei imediatamente! É uma marca que nunca pára de me surpreender, têm uma grande gama de vernizes cremosos e a fórmula dos que já experimentei é sempre perfeita. Fáceis de aplicar e de limpar, não arrastam, não se acumulam em volta das cutículas e têm bastante brilho (neste ponto vão ter de acreditar nas minhas palavras, porque nas fotos já tenho top coat). Usei 2 camadas deste verniz, mas uma seria suficiente, já que possui uma óptima pigmentação e poder de cobertura. Outra coisa que adoro nestes vernizes, e que não sei se já referi, é o pincel. É achatado, muito macio e é extremamente fácil de trabalhar com ele!

Usei-o juntamente com Innisfree nº65, e com a ajuda de fitinha de nail art, desenhei um padrão de argyle (como raio se chama isto em português? o_O).

I have to say, these were a lot of work!! I don't think I'll be using any striping tape in the next few weeks. I have to recover from the trauma first, but I do love the outcome, at least I feel like it was worth all the lost time and the frustration of trying to get it right. Only thing I wasn't happy with, is that Seche Vite changed the colour of the tape, it was copper, not golden...Oh well, still looks good, though! :P

Devo dizer que isto deu uma trabalheira do caraças!! Acho que não me apanham a mexer em fitinhas de nail art nem tão cedo. Primeiro tenho de recuperar do trauma, apesar de adorar o resultado final, ao menos acho que valeu a pena todo o tempo perdido e toda a frustração de tentar com que isto ficasse perfeitinho. A única coisa que não achei muita piada, foi ao facto do Seche Vite ter mudado a cor da fitinha, era cobre e não dourada...mas paciência, ainda acho que ficou bonito! :P

Birthday Presents and Nail Mail!

I turned 29 years old recently, and in my Christmas nails post, I complained that no one got me what I love the most, nail polishes! Well, that changed on my birthday...my closest friends got together and bought me 2 O.P.Is (they're pretty expensive here), and my boyfriend told me to make an order for myself, he'd pay and that would be my birthday present. I think I broke him, guys...until that day, he always said "I'm not buying you any nail polishes, you have enough."! xD

The O.P.Is my friends got me are Russian Navy and My Private Jet, 2 of my favourites from the brand and I'm so happy to have MPJ on my collection, even though it's not the original (I believe this is what they call it the Yuk Brown version, but not sure).

Fiz 29 anitos recentemente, e no meu post de unhas de Natal queixei-me que não recebi nem um vernizinho...pois bem, isto mudou no meu aniversário! As minhas amigas mais chegadas juntaram-se e compraram-me 2 O.P.Is, e o meu namorado disse-me para encomendar alguns vernizes, que ele pagava e seria a minha prendinha de anos. Finalmente ele cedeu...até àquele dia ele sempre disse "Não te vou comprar vernizes alguns, já tens mais que suficientes."! xD

From my boyfriend, I got 5 Innisfree! Well, I ordered them for myself and he paid, but who cares? xD The eBay seller was having a 4+1 sale, which means I would pay for 4 and get a free one! They said we could choose the free one, but unfortunatelly, they completely desregarded my request and sent me a random one...BUT, I already contacted them and they're going to send me the correct one, so I'll get 4+2 out of this deal! Lucky me!! xD

Do namorado recebi 5 Innisfree! Bem, eu encomendei-os para mim própria e ele só pagou, mas que interessa isto? xD O vendedor do eBay que escolhi estava com uma promoção de 4+1, o que significa que pagaria por 4 e receberia 1 de oferta! Eles diziam lá que podiamos escolher o que queriamos de oferta, mas infelizmente a minha mensagem foi totalmente ignorada e enviaram-me um qualquer...MAS, já contactei com eles, a contar o sucedido, e vão-me enviar o que tinha pedido inicialmente, por isso acabei por ter 4+2! Sortuda eu!! xD

Me, and a few other girls, got together on a group buy to get these from Brazil, they're brazilian indies made by Kelly and Penélope Luz. They're absolutely gorgeous! Too bad I didn't have the money to order more, at the time...

Hello hello!

How was everyone's week (and weekend now, but since I started typing this on saturday... xD)? Mine was ok, except that I broke a nail on wednesday, on my left thumb, and  due to that, I had to shorten all my nails...I also changed the format a bit and I'm not too happy about it...meh!

Como foi a semana de todas vocês (e já agora o fim de semana, é q comecei a escrever este post no sábado... xD)? A minha foi boazinha, à excepção de que parti uma unha na quarta-feira, a do polegar esquerdo, e devido a isto, tive de encurtar todas as outras...Também lhes mudei um pouco o formato e não estou muito satisfeita com o resultado...meh!

But moving on to the subject. Like I said before, I got this nail polish on Ebay, and it took a bit over a week to get here from Korea. It is gorgeous! It quickly became one of my favourite nail polishes. I used 3 coats of it, it looked ok with 2, but I felt like I still needed 1 more coat to make it look perfect. The formula was really easy to work with and I had no trouble cleaning up either. The brush was a bit too thick for my liking, though.

Mas passando ao ponto fulcral deste post. Como já disse antes, comprei este verniz pelo Ebay e demorou pouco mais de uma semana a chegar da Coreia. É lindo e rapidamente se tornou  num dos meus vernizes preferidos! Usei 3 camadas para ficar perfeitinho, apesar de estar apresentável só com 2. Foi bastante fácil de aplicar e limpar, o pincel é que é farfalhudo demais para o meu gosto.

Nail Mail Is The Best Kind of Mail!

Hi girls! How was everyone's weekend? I hope it was good, mine was spent playing Guild Wars 2, how productive... :X But hey, it was fun! xD

This was the one I got on friday, I bought it on E(vil)bay, a couple of weeks ago and it finally got here, it was a long trip all the way from Korea! This is what I'm wearing now and it's gorgeous, expect a post about it soon. It looks like a Deborah Lippmann Ray of Light dupe to me, but I can't really be sure.

And all these got here today! They're from a swap I did with Raquel (the other Raquel, as I call her xD), from the blog Cupcakes & Airwaves, she's a sweetheart and I really enjoyed getting to know her better! We've been planning this since the beginning of september!! It took us a long time to get everything ready to ship, but I wouldn't change that at all!
