Let's Put Some Bling Bling On Mah Nails!

Hello, people! ^^

Cindy, the creator of Shimmer polishes was kind enough to send me quite a few of her creations for review, so be prepared to see a lot of those around here, during the next few weeks. The first one I have to show you is Candace.
Candace contains small glitter in black and gold, and large, golden holographic, hex glitter. It's an absolute glitter bomb! I wasn't sure I was going to like it, because I'm not really a fan of gold colours on my nails, but I ended up loving it!

Here, I have 2 coats of Candace, over 2 coats of Kinetics Dawn Tea, stamped with Essence Black is Back and a DRK-B plate:

A Cindy, criadora dos vernizes Shimmer, enviou-me umas quantas das suas criações para testar, por isso estejam preparadas para verem muitos destes lindos por aqui, durante as próximas semanas. O primeiro que tenho para vos mostrar é o Candace.
O Candace está recheadinho de pequenos glitters pretos e dourados, e outros maiorzinhos, hexagonais. dourados e holográficos. É uma verdadeira bomba de glitter! Não tinha a certeza se ia gostar dele, pois não sou grande fã de dourados nas unhas, mas acabei por adorá-lo!

Aqui, tenho 2 camadas do Candace, por cima de 2 camadas do Kinetics Dawn Tea, carimbado com o Essence Black is Back e com a placa DRK-B:

Formula wise, this was pretty good, surprisingly good! The brush comes out filled with glitter and it goes on the nail really smoothly, no need to dab and drag glitters around for good placement, so that is a plus! It's a top coat eater though...here I have 3 coats of top coat on. o.o One of Essence Gel Look, one of Kinetics Kwik Kote, then stamp, then a final coat of Kinetics Kwik Kote.

I loved wearing this, it made my nails sparkle so much, I got a bunch of compliments on it from random people everywhere, and that doesn't happen much! :P

A fórmula deste é bastante boa, surpreendentemente boa! O pincel vem carregadinho de glitter e espalha-se pela unha facilmente, sem ter a necessidade de andar a pescar ou a tentar colocá-lo uniformemente na unha. O único senão é que "come" muito top coat...usei 3 camadas no total. Uma do Essence Gel Look, outra do Kinetics Kwik Kote, carimbei e depois finalizei com outra camada do Kwik Kote.

Adorei usá-lo, as minhas unhas andaram cheias de brilho e recebi montanhas de elogios, onde quer que eu fosse! E olhem que isto não acontece muita vez! :P

Cosmic Love, finally a portuguese indie!

Long time no see. No excuses this time, just pure laziness...every day, I've said to myself  "I'm going to post tonight", but then I end up doing a million other things, and then it's already too late. Oops...

Tonight, I have a very special indie polish to show. It's the very first portuguese indie (and only one so far, but more will come) that I bought!
The brand is Crazy Polish Lady, and it's maker, Sofia, is one of the first people I remember talking to, when I first started sharing my photos online. She only has 1 collection out yet (all jellies with holographic micro glitter), it was inspired by her favourite songs, and this one is Cosmic Love (song by Florence And The Machine).

Bons olhos me vejam, não é assim? :P Sem desculpas destas vez, apenas pura preguiça...todos os dias dizia para mim mesma "É hoje que vou postar lá no blog", mas depois acabava por fazer outras mil e uma coisas, e quando dava por mim, já estava demasiado tarde. Oops...

Esta noite, venho-vos mostrar um indie muito especial. É o primeiro indie português que comprei (e ainda o único por enquanto, mas mais virão).
A marca é Crazy Polish Lady, e a sua criadora, a Sofia, é uma das primeiras pessoas com quem me lembro de falar, quando comecei a publicar fotos pelos grupos do Facebook. Até ao momento, ela só lançou uma colecção (todos com acabamento jelly e com micro glitter holográfico), e esta foi inspirada nas suas músicas favoritas. O que vos mostro hoje é o Cosmic Love (música de Florence And The Machine).

 

Like I said before, this is a jelly, packed with holographic micro glitter, giving it a scattered holo look. Formula was excellent, very easy to apply and manage, and even though it's a dark shade of blue, it didn't stain my nails or cuticles. I used 3 coats of it, but it was perfectly covered with only 2, I just wanted to add more dept to it.
The brush that comes with the bottle is pure love! I'm a sucker for flat brushes, what can I do? xD
Photos don't do the nail polish any justice, I had a really hard time capturing that holo shine, but it is really beautiful in person.

Como já disse antes, este verniz tem um acabamento jelly e está recheadinho de micro glitter holográfico.
A fórmula é excelente. Muito fácil de aplicar e manusear, e apesar de ser um verniz azul escuro, não me manchou as unhas nem as cutículas. Usei 3 camadas, mas cobria, perfeitamente, só com 2, eu é que lhe quis adicionar um pouquinho mais de profundidade. 

O pincel que o frasquinho traz, é puro amor! Não resisto a pincéis achatados, que posso eu fazer? xD
As fotos não fazem qualquer justiça ao verniz, tive muita dificuldade em captar todos aqueles brilhos holográficos, mas ele é realmente lindo em pessoa. 

While I was wearing it, I kept thinking it looked just like Picture Polish Cosmos, but no dice...Cosmos has a lot more going on there, with all the micro flakies, and is a tad bit lighter, even though you can't really see it here.

Enquanto o usei, pareceu-me sempre, que seria parecido ao Picture Polish Cosmos, mas não...O Cosmos tem muitas mais coisas para lá enfiadas (como mini flocos), para além do micro glitter, e é um todo nada mais claro que o Cosmic Love, apesar de isto não ser perceptível na foto.

Birthday Presents and Nail Mail!

I turned 29 years old recently, and in my Christmas nails post, I complained that no one got me what I love the most, nail polishes! Well, that changed on my birthday...my closest friends got together and bought me 2 O.P.Is (they're pretty expensive here), and my boyfriend told me to make an order for myself, he'd pay and that would be my birthday present. I think I broke him, guys...until that day, he always said "I'm not buying you any nail polishes, you have enough."! xD

The O.P.Is my friends got me are Russian Navy and My Private Jet, 2 of my favourites from the brand and I'm so happy to have MPJ on my collection, even though it's not the original (I believe this is what they call it the Yuk Brown version, but not sure).

Fiz 29 anitos recentemente, e no meu post de unhas de Natal queixei-me que não recebi nem um vernizinho...pois bem, isto mudou no meu aniversário! As minhas amigas mais chegadas juntaram-se e compraram-me 2 O.P.Is, e o meu namorado disse-me para encomendar alguns vernizes, que ele pagava e seria a minha prendinha de anos. Finalmente ele cedeu...até àquele dia ele sempre disse "Não te vou comprar vernizes alguns, já tens mais que suficientes."! xD

Os O.P.Is que recebi são o Russian Navy e o My Private Jet, 2 dos meus preferidos da marca e estou tão feliz por poder dizer que tenho o MPJ na minha colecção, mesmo apesar de não ser a versão original (acho que esta é chamada de Yuk Brown, mas não tenho a certeza).

From my boyfriend, I got 5 Innisfree! Well, I ordered them for myself and he paid, but who cares? xD The eBay seller was having a 4+1 sale, which means I would pay for 4 and get a free one! They said we could choose the free one, but unfortunatelly, they completely desregarded my request and sent me a random one...BUT, I already contacted them and they're going to send me the correct one, so I'll get 4+2 out of this deal! Lucky me!! xD

Do namorado recebi 5 Innisfree! Bem, eu encomendei-os para mim própria e ele só pagou, mas que interessa isto? xD O vendedor do eBay que escolhi estava com uma promoção de 4+1, o que significa que pagaria por 4 e receberia 1 de oferta! Eles diziam lá que podiamos escolher o que queriamos de oferta, mas infelizmente a minha mensagem foi totalmente ignorada e enviaram-me um qualquer...MAS, já contactei com eles, a contar o sucedido, e vão-me enviar o que tinha pedido inicialmente, por isso acabei por ter 4+2! Sortuda eu!! xD

Me, and a few other girls, got together on a group buy to get these from Brazil, they're brazilian indies made by Kelly and Penélope Luz. They're absolutely gorgeous! Too bad I didn't have the money to order more, at the time...

Eu, e umas quantas meninas, juntámo-nos e fizemos uma compra em conjunto para ter estes meninos do Brasil. São indies brasileiros feitos pela Kelly e pela Penélope Luz. São absolutamente magníficos  Pena que não tinha muito dinheiro na altura, senão teria pedido muitos mais...

The North Pole Is A Real Place

Hello hello!
Hope everyone's week is going ok so far, wednesday is almost over and that means there is only 2 more days for the weekend! Woohoo!! xD

There's something new on the blog today, I've got an indie to show you guys!! How exciting, I finally have my first indie. :3 (Already have 3 new ones that got here from Brazil yesterday and another one from Llarowe on it's way.)
I won this one at a giveway hosted by Charlotte, creator of WellNails, around Christmas time and it got to me the day after my birthday. It was the perfect birthday gift!

I didn't wait long to wear it, even though I had a bit of a hard time choosing my undies. I've seen it mostly over white, but I wanted the white glitter to be really visible, so that was a no no for me. I finally went with a light gray, however, I ended up regretting it...I don't think it complements my skin very well and it makes me feel like I have lobster hands. xD 

The North Pole is a real place is a gorgeous white glitter polish in a milky white base. It has 3 different shapes of glitter (at least to my eye), big hexes, small hexes and squares around the same size as the bigger hexes. Oh, and to make it even more special, it glows in the dark! I wore 2 coats of it over 2 coats of Risqué Arábia.

Espero que a vossa semana esteja a correr bem até agora, a quarta feira está quase quase a acabar e isto significa, que daqui a 2 dias já é fim de semana novamemente!! Weeeee!! xD

Tenho algo de novo para vos mostrar hoje, um indie!! Que alegria, finalmente tenho o meu primeiro indie. :3 (Agora já tenho mais 3 que chegaram do Brasil ontem e tenho outro da Llarowe a caminho.)

Este ganhei num giveaway, pela altura do Natal, feito pela Charlotte, criadora da marca WellNails, e chegou às minhas mãozinhas no dia a seguir ao meu aniversário. Foi um presente perfeito! 

Não esperei muito para usá-lo, apesar de ter tido alguma dificuldade em escolher a minha cor de base. Já o tinha visto várias vezes sobre branco, mas queria que o glitter branco ficasse realmente visível, por isso pus de parte esta opção. Acabei por escolher um cinza clarinho e, infelizmente, acabei por me arrepender desta escolha...não acho que a cor favoreça o meu tom de pele e faz parecer com que tenha mãos de lagosta. xD

The North Pole is a real Place é um lindo verniz de glitter branco, numa base branca e leitosa. Tem 3 formatos de glitter diferentes (pelo menos são os que consigo distinguir), hexágonos grandes, hexágonos pequenos e quadrados do mesmo tamanho dos hexágonos maiores. Ah, e para torná-lo mais especial, ele brilha no escuro! Usei 2 camadas do glitter sobre 2 camadas do Arábia da Risqué.

 

The formula was surprisingly good (I had no idea of what to expect from an indie xD), I had no trouble applying it, the glitters were very manageable and were evenly distributed on the nail, no need to dab around for a good placement.

A fórmula é surpreendentemente boa (não fazia a mínima ideia do que esperar de um indie xD), não tive qualquer problema em aplicá-lo e os glitters são muito fáceis de manusear e ficaram uniformemente distribuídos pela unha, sem ser preciso malabarismo algum para ficarem bem colocados.
