Polka Dots and Pinstripes Mix and Match

I was supposed to do some swatches and review some polishes that were sent to me by Gosh Cosmetics, but as I was deciding which one I should do first, I was looking at these 2 and thinking they'd look so good together...I also wanted to do some nail art, sometimes I just feel like it. xD

The polishes I used are Miss Minty and Miss Mole. I painted my middle and pointing fingernail with Miss Mole and the rest with Miss Minty on both of my hands. Then I added some dots and stripes on every nail and topped that off with my Kiko matte top coat. My stripes aren't perfect, they were done free hand, but not so bad either. :P

I have to say, I'm really impressed with the quality of these nail polishes, I only owned 1 Gosh and really liked that one, but now I'm starting to think that all polishes from this brand are really worth their money (5,99€ here in Portugal). I used 2 coats on them both, but they were perfect with just one coat, I had minimal clean up to do because its brush is really good (it's a flat brush, but smaller than O.P.I or Catrice ones) and they dried really fast.

Anyone else out there in love with Gosh nail polishes? Now I can't wait to try out the other ones they sent me for review.

(These were sent to me for review)

Green Spring Marble

Spring is coming! I can feel it already...my allergies have started. The awfull cough, the sneezing, the clogged nose...Funny how you can spend 27 years of your life allergy free and then one cold changes everything...This past year was awful in terms of allergies, the cough keeps coming back, the slight asthma too, and whenever I have to take the damn pills for it, I feel like I need to sleep all day...but I digress.

Spring, time for greens and lovely pastel colours! The weather has been warmer lately (I even felt too hot today and it was only 18C outside xD), and to go with it I determined it was time to try my two new greens and mixed both of them by marbling my accent nails. So without further ado, here it is:

Left accent nail in detail
Right accent nail in detail (the top coat caused a bit of dragging here)

I used Gosh Forest Floor on most of my nails, it's a beautiful dark green, completely perfect with 1 coat, but I used 2 anyway, and for my accent nails I used Sally Hansen Polar Bare, Myio Grape and Gosh Forest Floor as well.

Blurry pic, sorry, but only noticed it after taking all the pictures and didn't feel like doing it again.

Loved the colours, loved how the marble came out, was just so happy with this entire look, but my awesome Mavadry top coat is too tick to be used and I had no choice but to go with the only other top coat I own, it's from Claire's, and it's pretty crappy...Took ages to dry, dragged a bit of the colours in the marble (even if they were already dry when I applied it), the next day I woke up with some bed sheet marks, nothing serious but it was still there, and then after 1 day and a half, I bumped my middle left finger in a frying pan and this is the result:

so now I have a crack on my nail polish, from one side to another! That never happened to me before, it didn't peel, it's still holding on, but that crack has got to go!! Think I'll just repaint that nail.. xD
Top coats...this is how we find out how important a GOOD one really is important, they make all the difference.

Girly Pink Gradient!

I am not the kind of girl that wears pink, it's not that I don't like it, I just don't care for it, it's one of those colours that have no interest to me. Despite that, last monday I found myself staring at this matte pink I had since Christmas, but had never felt like using it, so I thought "why not?" and gave it a go. It turned out to be really cute, and pretty good for nail polish bought at the chinese store! Spanish brand though :P

So I started off with this:

but after a bit looking at my fingers  I felt like it needed something more, so I decided it was time to try a gradient with 2 colours for the first time (my first one only involved glitter, nothing else), and came to the conclusion that my new Orly would be a perfect match for it. And so the sponging began!
It was easier than what I thought it would be and the colours blended so well together. I finished it using my Gosh matte top coat, but in the pictures you can still see the reflection of the light, even though it didn't shine at all.

Here's the final result:

I was really proud of it, I think I did good for a first time, don't you agree? :P

Here's some pictures of the polishes I used to get this, Yesensy #36 Matte and Orly Rock It:

Unfortunately, it didn't last for long...not because it chipped or the tipwear was unbeareble, nope...I just got tired of the pink and by thursday night I couldn't stand to look at it anymore. I'm really not a pink girl...

Mini Haul Time!

I'm running behind on my posts! Already have 2 new manis to post but my boyfriend spent this past week here with me and I didn't feel like posting while he was here...

This post is just to show you girls the latest additions to my collection. All of these were bought throughout the course of last week, during my daily walks with the boyfriend. I was constantly asking to stop at shops that sell nail polish, he was getting kind of bored with it. xD

Here are my new babies:

  • Kiss stripers - These were a bit too expensive for me, almost 17€ if I remember correctly, but they came with some really cute stencils and since I suck at nail art, I just had to have them!
  • Gosh Matt Effect Top Coat & Gosh Forest Floor - I've heard so much about Gosh that I had to buy some and see for myself if they're any good. These were 6.99€ each...Again, expensive...-.-'
  • Catrice Dirty Berry - Such a pretty purple/lavender, slightly holographic. I think this one was 2,49€...or was it 2,99€? Not sure at all now, but it doesn't really matter, couldn't leave it behind!
  • Miyo Grape - Why is it called grape?? It has nothing to do with grapes! I don't get it...But hey, it was cheap! 1,49€, that's more like it!
And that's it for now. I think I need to stop buying nail polishes...
