Color Club For You

No, that's not a cheeky title, the name of this Color Club is really For You, and it's so pretty! *-*

I got this one during the Expocosmética 2014, this past month, and it was kindly provided for review  by the owner of GL Nails, the portuguese Color Club distributor, that I got to meet during the fair.

I love white polishes with coloured glitters, they always catch my eye and make me wish for them all. Unfortunately, they're practicaly all indies, and the price tag that comes with those is always a bit too much for me, so I was really happy when I got to choose one of the new Color Club collection, and saw this one! I didn't even think twice, I just grabbed it! xD

Like I said before, For You is a multicoloured glitter polish, in a white jelly base. In the photos, I'm wearing it in 3 coats.

Não, o titulo não é suposto ser uma piadinha, é mesmo o nome do verniz da Color Club que vos trago hoje, For You.

Trouxe este comigo da Expocosmética 2014, no mês passado, e ele foi gentilmente cedido para revisão, pelo dono da GL Nails, o representante da Color Club em Portugal, que tive o prazer de conhecer durante a feira.

Eu adoro vernizes de glitter coloridos e de base branca, são dos meus preferidos e quero-os sempre a todos. Infelizmente, a maioria deles são indies, o que significa que acabam por ser caros demais para o meu bolso, na maior parte das vezes. Por esta razão, fiquei extremamente feliz quando pude escolher um verniz da nova colecção da Color Club e vi este lá! Agarrei-o logo, nem pensei duas vezes! xD

Como já vos disse, o For You é um verniz de glitter colorido, suspenso numa base branca de acabamento jelly. Nas fotos, estou a usá-lo em 3 camadas.

As a jelly polish, you really need to apply 3 coats if you don't like to have any visible nail line, but if you don't mind with that, 2 coats will work fine. The formula is a bit too liquid and will flood and pool around the cuticules if you're not extra careful while applying the nail polish, but if it does happen, it's ok, this one is really easy to clean up and it will look perfect in no time.

Como é um verniz jelly, são precisas 3 camadas para total cobertura da unha, mas para quem não tem problema em ter o branquinho da unha um pouco visível, 2 camadas também funcionam bem. A fórmula do For You é um pouco líquida, e se não foram cuidadosas a aplicá-lo ele vai inundar as vossas cutículas, no entanto, o caso não é grave, já que ele é extremamente fácil de limpar e ficar perfeitinho em três tempos.

Moyou + Dance Legend = ♥

Hi everyone! ^^ How are you all doing?

A couple of weeks ago, I received some pretty amazing nail mail! I got 2 of the new Moyou plates for review and a Dance Legend group order, that I organized waaaaaay back, in May. Yes, they took almost 4 months to get here, it was a long wait. Anyway, I only ordered 1 for me (was kind of broke at the time), but I was so happy to have 25 Dance Legends with me for a weekend, before I shipped them to their rightful owners. I kept staring at them, and wishing I could have them all to myself. xD Still, I got to wear 2 of them already!! Cristina, from The Clockwise Nail Polish blog, surprised me and said I could pick one of hers and use it, before it got shipped to her. Tough choice though...she ordered a few and they were all so gorgeous! I ended up going with High Voltage, which is an holographic blue.

Let's talk about plates, now. Like I said before, Moyou sent me 2 plates for review. They were really nice and even told me I could choose which ones I wanted, I went with Pro Collection 02 and Pro Collection 08.
The plates are amazing! I've already did a few manicures with them (I'll be posting some more later), and they stamp great! Here are some photos of the plates:

Olá a todos! ^^ Como têm andado?

Há coisa de 2 semanas atrás, eu recebi uns pacotinhos maravilhosos no correio! Recebi 2 placas da Moyou para review e ainda, uma encomenda de grupo, da marca russa, Dance Legend, que foi organizada no início de maio, mas só chegou até nós, quase, 4 meses depois. Foi uma longa espera...Eu só encomendei 1 para mim, na altura (andava meio lisa), mas fiquei toda satisfeita por ter 25 Dance Legends comigo, durante um fim de semana inteiro, antes de os enviar para as suas donas. Passei a vida a olhar para eles e a desejar que pudesse ficar com eles só para mim. xD Ainda assim, acabei por usar 2 destes meninos! A Cristina, do blog The Clockwise Nail Polish, surpreendeu-me e disse que podia escolher um dos dela, para usar antes de enviá-los. Foi uma escolha difícil...ela encomendou uns poucos e eram todos tão lindos! Acabei por escolher o High Voltage, um verniz holográfico azul.

Vamos falar de placas, agora.  Como eu já vos disse, a Moyou enviou-me 2 placas para review. Foram muito simpáticos e até me deixaram escolher as que queria. Fui pela Pro Collection 02 e Pro Collection 08.
As placas são lindas! Já fiz umas quantas manicures com elas (vou postar mais, brevemente), e carimbam mesmo muito bem. Aqui têm fotos das minhas placas:

You can see that they have some really intricate designs! I didn't test them all yet, but the ones I did try, worked great.
You should be careful if you're ordering these and have really long or wide nails, though. The first plates that came out are on the small size, the designs are about 1.2x1.5cm, so if your nails are bigger than that, just go for the XL collections, that are 1.5x2.0cm.

For my first  "Moyou mani", I chose the Pro Collection 08 plate, the middle design on the first row. I stamped with Dance Legend High Voltage, over GL Nails #22.

Como podem ver, as placas têm desenhos bastante intrincados! Não os testei a todos ainda, mas aqueles que testei, funcionaram perfeitamente.
Têm é de ter cuidado, caso queiram encomendar as placas e têm unhas bastante compridas, ou largas. As primeiras  placas que saíram possuem desenhos pequenos, cerca de 1,2x1,5cm, por isso se as tens unhas maiores que isto, convém optar pela colecção XL, que possui desenhos com 1,5x2,0cm.

Para a minha primeira "manicure Moyou", escolhi a placa Pro Collection 08 e o desenho do meio, da primeira fila. Carimbei com o Dance Legend High Voltage, sobre o GL Nails nº22.

GL Nails #24 + Penélope Luz Wicca

Ok girls, time to start posting regurlaly again. I have a ton of photos already edited, but was lacking the will power to write...I'm feeling quite inspired today, though, and will be getting ready a few posts.

So, for today, I have a weird, but awesome combo, that I wore a few weeks back. Maybe even more than a month ago... xD
After swatching the GL Nails polishes, I had to wear that chartreuse green again, because I loved it so much, but I didn't want to wear it by itself, so I decided to layer Penélope Luz Wicca on top of it. Here's the result:

Ok meninas, está na altura de voltar a escrever por aqui regularmente. Tenho um montão de fotos editadas, mas andava-me a faltar a força de vontade de vir aqui escrever, mas hoje até estou bastante inspirada e vou preparar já, uns quantos posts. 

Então, para hoje, eu tenho uma combinação algo estranha, mas da qual gostei muito, e que usei há algumas semanas atrás. Talvez até tenha sido há mais de um mês...
Depois de ter feito a revisão dos vernizes da GL Nails, fiquei com bastante vontade de usar o tal verdinho ranhoca, que tanto tinha gostado, mas não queria usá-lo sozinho, então resolvi usar o Wicca da Penélope Luz sobre ele. Aqui está o resultado:

Wicca has a slighly tinted base, so it darked my base colour a bit, but I didn't mind that, in fact, I quite like the colour I got from this combo. It has a few different types of glitter in it, like big yellow hexes, small purple and green hexes, and also what appears to be some silver microglitter.
I used 2 coats of Wicca, and formula wise, this one is a bit too liquid for my taste. It's hard to have a good control of where the glitter is being placed, I had to fish around to get the big yellow glitters and place them with a orange stick. Still, I fell in love with this nail polish and how it looks on the nail, and I, certainly, will wear it again!

A base do Wicca é, ligeiramente, tingida de preto, e isso fez escurecer, um bocadinho, a minha cor de base, mas não me importei, aliás, até gostei bastante da cor resultante desta combinação. O Wicca é composto por alguns tipos diferentes de glitter, como grandes hexágonos amarelos, hexágonos mais pequenos em roxo e verde, e também, o que aparenta ser, algum microglitter prateado.
Usei 2 camadas dele, e não morri de amores pela sua fórmula...é demasiado líquida para mim, tive alguma dificuldade em controlar a colocação do glitter na unha e até tive de andar a pescar os glitters maiores e colocá-los com a ajuda de um pauzinho de laranjeira. Ainda assim, apaixonei-me por este glitter e pelo seu aspecto na unha, e com certeza, vou usá-lo muitas mais vezes! 

GL Nails Summer Collection

OOOhhhh, what is this, a post?? Why yes, yes it is! I finally have the time to update my little corner of the interwebz. Thesis and internship reports done and turned in and now I have all the time of the world. :P

Today, I will be showing you some colours from GL Nails latest collection. From what I've gathered, there are a total of 11 colours, and I have 6 of those to show you. So here they are:

OOOoooh, mas o que é isto, um post?? É, sim senhoras! Finalmente tenho tempo para actualizar o meu pequeno cantinho na internet. Monografia e relatórios de estágio feitos e entregues, agora tenho todo o tempo do mundo! :p

Hoje vou mostrar-vos algumas cores da última colecção da GL Nails. Pelo que sei, são 11 cores no total, e eu tenho 6 destas. Aqui ficam elas:

GL Nails #21

#21 is a light pastel blue, one of my favourites from the colours I got. Shown here in 3 coats and no top coat.

O nº21 é um azul clarinho, bem pastel, é um dos meus favoridos das cores que recebi. Aqui, em 3 camadas e sem top coat.

 

GL Nails #22

A lovely pastel yellow. 3 coats and no top coat.

Um amarelinho pastel, bem amoroso. 3 camadas e sem top coat.

GL Nails #23

Here's another favourite of mine. I'm usually not very into neons, but this light green really grabbed my attention. Once again, 3 coats and no top coat.

Este é outro dos meus preferidos. Não sou grande fã de neons, mas este verdinho clarinho agarrou a minha atenção. Mais uma vez, 3 camadas e sem top coat. 

GL Nails #24

This is the one I liked the most, a chartreuse green, a very unique colour in my colection. I only used 2 coats on this one, but should have done a 3rd one, as I can still see some VNL in these photos. No top coat here either. 

Este foi o que mais gostei, um verde chartreuse (ou como eu gosto de lhe chamar, um verde ranhoca xD), cor bem única na minha colecção. Só usei 2 camadas deste, mas devia ter dado uma terceira, porque nas fotos ainda se nota o branquinho da unha. Este também não levou top coat.

GL Nails #25

Not so sure what colour this one really is...sometimes it looks like a dark orange, others it leans more pink, but most of the times I see a neon, coraly red. Confused? So was I... Here, in 3 coats and no top coat.

Não consigo definir a cor deste...às vezes parece-me um laranja escuro, outras vezes tende mais para o rosa, mas a maior parte das vezes parece-me um vermelho neon a tender para o coral. Confusas? Pois, eu também... 3 camaditas e sem top coat.

GL Nails #26

This is the odd one out. It's a dark, burned orange filled with holographic micro glitter (that I failed to capture properly with my lighting settings). Once again, 3 coats and no top coat.

Este é o único com um acabamento diferente. É um laranja escuro, queimado, cheio de micro glitter holográfico (que eu não consegui captar com a luz que uso). Mais uma vez, 3 camadas e sem top coat.

Formula wise, they're a bit on the jelly side, hence the 3 coats on all of them. I found the formula to be a bit runny, and it would pool a bit around my cuticles, but they were very easy to clean and there was no staining.  They all dried very fast and shiny, as you can see from the photos. Even the neons dry all shiny!
The brush is a bit on the short side, but very soft and manageable.

This was my first experience with the brand, and I was very pleased with them, but the greens and the blue were definitely my favourites. How about you, which one you liked the most?

A fórmula destes vernizes é a tender para o jelly, daí a necessidade de usar 3 camadas neles todos. Achei-a um bocadinho fluída demais e com a tendência a acumular em volta das cutículas, no entanto, são todos muito fáceis de limpar e não mancham. Secam rapidamente, e são bastante brilhantes, como se pode ver pelas fotos. Até os neons, que têm a tendência a secar matte.
O pincel é um bocadinho curto, mas muito macio e fácil de manusear.

Esta foi a minha primeira experiência com a marca, e posso dizer que fiquei bastante satisfeita com estes vernizes, mas os verdinhos e o azul são, definitivamente, os meus preferidos. E vocês, qual gostaram mais?
