Color Club For You

No, that's not a cheeky title, the name of this Color Club is really For You, and it's so pretty! *-*

I got this one during the Expocosmética 2014, this past month, and it was kindly provided for review  by the owner of GL Nails, the portuguese Color Club distributor, that I got to meet during the fair.

I love white polishes with coloured glitters, they always catch my eye and make me wish for them all. Unfortunately, they're practicaly all indies, and the price tag that comes with those is always a bit too much for me, so I was really happy when I got to choose one of the new Color Club collection, and saw this one! I didn't even think twice, I just grabbed it! xD

Like I said before, For You is a multicoloured glitter polish, in a white jelly base. In the photos, I'm wearing it in 3 coats.

As a jelly polish, you really need to apply 3 coats if you don't like to have any visible nail line, but if you don't mind with that, 2 coats will work fine. The formula is a bit too liquid and will flood and pool around the cuticules if you're not extra careful while applying the nail polish, but if it does happen, it's ok, this one is really easy to clean up and it will look perfect in no time.

This is it for today, I hope you enjoy and keep showing up here, on the blog.

Happy Tuesday!

[ABC Nails] C is for Color Club

Hello hello!

Today, I bring you an amazing holo by Color Club, and I really mean AMAZING! It is called Cloud Nine and I never thought I would love it as much as I did. You see, I really don't like pink on my nails, and whenever I buy one, I end up regreting it because I hate how they look on my skintone...Not this one though! I'm not even convinced this is pink, maybe a bit more lilac than pink? I don't know...all I know is that it is on my nails since thursday night, and I'm still not tired of it. Now that's a record! xD

For this manicure, I decided to pair Cloud Nine with São Marcos by the portuguese brand Cliché. This one is quite new, since they just released it with their new collection. I used 2 coats of Cloud Nine, 2 coats of São Marcos and then I stamped over it, using my Moyou Pro Collection 02.

(Just look at that rainbow!! *-*)

I was scared that Cloud Nine would be a bitchy holo, and would drag and pull while being applied, so I wore it on top of my Peel Off base coat, from Essence. I heard that helps, but no idea...it was easy breezy to apply this holo polish on top of it, though. No bitchiness whatsoever! :P Oh, and I also topped it off with Seche Vite, and as you can see, all the holo goodness is still there. I think this means I need more Color Club holos in my life.

I was also scared that São Marcos would be crap! I don't have a good experience with Cliché's nail polishes, the ones I got so far (excluding their sand collection) all had really bad formulas. Some were too sheer and required waaaaay too many coats to look presentable, others were just really bad to apply and would always look like a streaky mess. I have to say that this one, was a nice surprise and was looking perfect with just 2 coats. And it's a pastel!!! Cliché, you might have made me a fan! With good formulas like this, really cute colours and with the price tag of 1€, who needs anything else?

Okay, I'm finally up to date with this challenge, and from now on, I'll be posting it on mondays, every other week. Don't forget to visit the other bloggers that are doing this challenge with me, Rosana and Maggie.

Have a nice week!

Born Pretty Store Goodies Review

Today I have some items from the Born Pretty Store for review. For those of you that still don't know, Born Pretty Store is an online store that has a lot of different items, especially in the nail art department.

I chose to review 2 of their nail polishes for stamping, the red and the yellow, and their 2 sided stamper. First I'll show you some photos of how they performed.

For the red stamping polish, I started with a base of Barielle Falling Star and then  stamped with my DRK-B.

For the yellow stamping polish, I went with Color Club Revvvolution and stamped with the same plate.

As you can see, both of these stamp great, they're really easy to work with, I was able to pick them up with the stamper with no flaws and very easily, the only problem I have with these is that their colour seems to be a bit altered, especially the yellow one that turned green over Revvvolution.

The stamper worked really well for me too (I've been using it all summer) and here's some photos of it in action:

(yes, I use the small side to stamp my entire nail, except on my thumb xD)

The stamper came with a metal scapper but as most of you, I'd rather use an old credit card than the scapper itself, so I didn't even try it...

There are links to all the products used here in this post and if you'd like to buy anything at the store, feel free to use my code to get 7% off your purchase.

It's Revvvolution, Baby!!

Oh hey again! xD
On monday, after I came back from Lisbon, I had some nail mail waiting for me! Nothing big, just Color Club Revvvolution and Orly Rock It. They're both really pretty, but I don't see myself  wearing Rock It anytime soon. To me, it's not season appropriate. xD Maybe closer to the summer I'll be able to wear it.

So here is Revvvolution with some simple nail art I did using my new stripers and one of the stencils that came with it. Unfortunately, the stencil wasn't big enough to cover my entire nail  and I had to freehand to prolong the design. It's not perfect, but not bad for a first time either!

Even though I loved the colour, I was a bit disappointed with this one...Was expecting the holographic effect to stand out a lot more, it's nothing like the swatches I saw before ordering it. Did they change the formula?
Anyway, this is 2 coats but it had a good coverage with just 1, I did 2 out of habit, and all the pictures were taken under artificial light with no flash.
